Meet the Directors
Erin McCartney Rozniakowski
Director & Founder
Dedicated to athletic excellence from a young age, Founder, Co-Director and Senior Coach Erin Rozniakowski, spent long hours shooting at a basket her father made for her on their farm in Dry Run, Pennsylvania. Eventually it was her academics that prompted her transfer to Mercersburg Academy in 1996. In 1999, she graduated from Mercersburg as a member of the Cum Laude Society, became the school’s first female 1,000 point scorer and was honored as the first female recipient of the Athletic Director’s Award for Dedication to Improvement. Coach Erin continued her basketball career at Haverford College, a Division III school, and as team captain for 3 years, graduated in all the all-time rankings the team in rebounding, career points, and shooting percentage. In 2003, Coach Erin graduated with a double major, English from Haverford and Philosophy from Bryn Mawr, and a concentration in Feminist and Gender studies. Excelling both academically and athletically throughout her college career, Coach Erin was also
a member of the Women’s Track team where she won the Centennial Conference in the Shot Put in 2003 and is a former school record holder in the Discus.
For the next two years, Coach Erin served as an assistant at her alma mater before eventually moving to AAU to coach with Fencor, one of the best AAU clubs in the country. With Fencor, Coach Erin was given her own team in 2006 and made two consecutive trips to the Winner’s Bracket at AAU Nationals, finishing in the top 25 in the country, in both 2007 and 2008. But Coach Erin had a vision; she wanted to create an organization with a philosophy and mission focused on empowering female athletes; building character as well as developing strong, fundamentally sound basketball players. Thus, Kyniska was born. Brandishing 8 teams for players in grades 4-9 in just their first season, Kyniska burst onto the AAU scene. Just one year later, Coach Erin’s team became the first in Kyniska history to qualify for Division I Nationals! Since then it’s been an exciting journey of empowering over 1,000 young women both on and off the court to become both the best players and people they can be. Kyniska is honored to continue to serve the girls basketball community.
Beyond Kyniska, Coach Erin has been married to Co-Director, Walt Rozniakowski since 2010. Coach Erin and Coach Walt, live in Havertown with their two children, Kenley and Sebastian. Coach Erin has served as JV Head Coach at Rosemont School of the Holy Child in Rosemont, PA since 2013. Her past coaching positions include Notre Dame de Lourdes (2013-15), Holy Child Academy (2005-09), Agnes Irwin (2006-09), Fencor AAU (2005-08), Abington Friends (2005-06), Haverford College (2003-05).
